Who we are

LLA Competitions, a trading name of LLA Plates Ltd (company number 17483473, registered in England and Wales, registered office Flat 3, 69 Weymouth House, Taunton Road, Oldham, OL9 0BD) is the data controller for personal information collected on this website. Contact: contact@llaplates.co.uk.

What we collect

Your full name, email address, mobile number, password (stored securely in encrypted form, never in plain text), competition entries and ticket numbers, and your marketing choices with the date, time and wording you agreed to. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.

Why we use it

LLA Competitions collects your name, email address and mobile number for account administration, competition entries and essential notifications about your account and entries. This is required to register.

To run your account and competition entries (contract), contact winners and carry out identity and registration entitlement checks required for road-legal plates (legal obligation), prevent multiple or fraudulent entries (legitimate interests), and send marketing only if you opted in (consent).

Marketing from LLA Competitions and LLA Plates Ltd by email and/or SMS is optional, chosen separately for each, and never a condition of registering. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time in My Account. This does not affect essential account and competition emails.

Who processes your information

Lovable (website hosting, database, account sign-in and sending our emails from notify.llaplates.co.uk) – on our behalf, under their data processing terms.

Google – only if you choose to sign in with Google.

We checked the website set-up on 10 October 2026: no advertising, analytics or tracking tools are installed, and no SMS service is connected. We do not sell your information. If you later export marketing lists to your own marketing service, that service will be added here before use.

How long we keep it

Account details (name, email, mobile): while your account is open. Accounts with no sign-in or entry for 3 years are reviewed and deleted at our annual data review, and we delete accounts within one month of a valid deletion request.

Competition entries, ticket numbers, draw and winner records: 6 years from the end of the financial year in which the competition closed, in line with HMRC record-keeping requirements and the time limit for legal claims. If your account is deleted before then, these records are anonymised – your name, email and mobile are removed and only the ticket number, date and result remain.

Winner identity and registration entitlement documents: seen only to confirm entitlement before road-legal plates are made, and kept no longer than the DVLA number plate supplier rules require; then securely deleted.

Marketing permission: when you withdraw permission in My Account you are removed from all future marketing lists immediately. We keep only a minimal record (your email or mobile, what you withdrew and when) for 6 years, so we can prove we respect your choice.

Deletion requests: email contact@llaplates.co.uk from your registered email address. We confirm your identity, delete or anonymise your information within one month, and confirm by email.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information or ask us to delete it by emailing contact@llaplates.co.uk; we respond within one month. Some records (for example entries, draw records and consent records) may need to be kept for the periods above to meet legal obligations. You can also ask to access, correct or delete your information, restrict or object to its use, or request a copy, by emailing contact@llaplates.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
